Community Volunteer Services (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates volunteercvs.org (the “Site”) as a free online directory. The Site allows community organizations to post volunteer opportunities and allows individuals to find and contact those organizations. We are not a volunteer agency, employer, placement service, or background-check provider.
No background checks or verification
We do not run background checks on volunteers, volunteer applicants, organizations, or the people who post or respond to listings. We do not verify the identity, credentials, criminal history, safety practices, insurance, licensing, or legitimacy of any user, organization, or opportunity. Listings are submitted by third parties. We do not investigate them, and we do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, current, lawful, or safe.
Platform only
The Site is a bulletin board. We do not employ volunteers, control the organizations that post opportunities, or supervise any volunteer activity. Any arrangement between a volunteer and an organization is solely between those parties. We are not a party to that arrangement and have no responsibility for how it is carried out.
Assumption of risk
Use of the Site and any decision to volunteer, host volunteers, meet, or otherwise interact with another user is at your own risk. You assume all risks of injury, property damage, loss, theft, misconduct, and other harm that may arise from using the Site or from any volunteer opportunity, including risks related to the lack of background checks. You are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability and safety of any opportunity or volunteer before participating.
No warranties
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Community Volunteer Services and its owners, operators, and affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, any listing, any interaction with another user, or any volunteer activity. This limitation applies whether the claim is based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Community Volunteer Services and its owners, operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your listings, your volunteer activity, or your violation of these terms.
Changes and contact
We may update this disclaimer at any time by posting a revised version on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised disclaimer.
